1 ESR POST AVAILABLE FROM 1st July 2010 PDF Print E-mail

ONE 6 month ESR Position is now available within the AquaTRAIN MRTN

To commence from as soon as possible after 1st July 2010

Application Deadline (extended from 22 May 2010 until the post is filled)

ESR2A: Biogeochemical modelling of geogenic chemicals 

(maximum 6 months depending upon starting date - post must terminate 31/12/2010)

This position is tenable at one of University of Manchester, UK (UNIMAN), University of Aberdeen, UK (UNIABDN), Universite Joseph Fourier, France (UJF), VITO, Belgium (VITO)

To apply:

(i) check the details of the posts and that you are eligible

(ii) complete a Cover Letter clearly indicating (i) why you are applying for the post: (ii) how you meet the selection criteria; and (c) your availability to attend a telephone/Skype interview or an interview in person during the period 1 July to 22 July; and save preferably as a PDF file (although we will also accept Word documents readable by Word Version 1997-2003)

(iii) complete, using the template provided, an Applications Details Form in an Excel file readable by Excel Version 1997-2003

Your CV should clearly indicate the dates and institutions awarding any of your tertiary degrees; it should also provide sufficient information to enable calculation of your length of research experience; please add the names and contact details of 2 suitable academic referees.

(v) Name your files JobCode_YourName_Cover.PDF, JobCode_YourName_Details.XLS and JobCode_YourName_CV.PDF respectively, where JobCode = ESR2A or ESR6B or ESR8C as appropriate, and YourName is your family name. 

(vi) Ensure that the total size of these files does NOT exceed 1 MByte.  Applications exceed this combined file length may be rejected.

(vii) If you are applying for a position at more than 1 institution, please send in a separate complete application for each post/institution. We strongly encourage you, however, focus your applications on no more than 1 or 2 institutions for each ESR position to which you apply.

The deadline for submission of applications for this posts was 22 May 2010 however we will consider applications received after this date until the post is filled. We aim to notify all candidates by 22 July 2010 of the outcome of their application submitted after 22 May 2010 but before 15 July 2010.

Remuneration for each position will be in accordance with the regulations of the Marie Curie Research Training Networks scheme.

Successful applicants for any of the ESR positions must comply with the following selection critieria:
(1) BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent giving access to post-graduate research study;
(2) Less than 4 years research experience after completion of Diploma/Masters degree
(3) PhD has not previously been awarded
(4) Marie-Curie RTN  rules for transnational mobility

Please make sure that you check the mobility criteria of the Marie Curie Research Training Networks before you apply to ensure that you are eligible.
